Originally premiered during the third episode of Frank Ocean’s blonded radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1. Check it out below.
On 18th April, JAY Z’s champagne brand Armond de Brignac will liberate their Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Two (or A2), which will run you a hefty $850 (about £680). It’s a considerable jump from the A1, which costs $760 (a little over £600). Adding to the exclusivity is the fact that they’re only making 8,333 bottles.
Said Chief Executive Officer Sebastien Besson:
We hadn’t thought about numbering them originally. But customers and collectors were requesting specific numbers: 888, or their birth date… We anticipate they may only be available for a few months.

After an apparent announcement leak, it’s been confirmed that JAY Z and P!nk have been tapped as headliners for this year’s V Festival, which takes place in Staffordshire and Essex 19th and 20th August. In addition, they’ll be joined by Craig Davis, Stormzy (who’s sailing high with his number one album), Sean Paul, Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Ellie Goulding, George Ezra, Dizzee Rascal, Sigma, James Arthur, Clean Bandit and more.
JAY Z made headlines for a couple of big achievements last week:
- First, it’s been announced that JAY will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame — the first rapper to do this;
- Second, he’s also reportedly teaming up with Roc Nation President Jay Brown to launch a new venture capital fund alongside Sherpa Capital. We’ll definitely be signing up for that.
Also: Frank Ocean recently launched his new Beats 1 show (blonded RADIO) by revealing his own interview with JAY Z, which saw the Roc Nation mogul more or less s***ting on the traditional radio format:
You take these pop stations, they’re reaching 18-34 young white females. So they’re playing music based on those tastes. And then they’re taking those numbers and they’re going to advertising agencies and people are paying numbers based on the audience that they have. So these places are not even based on music. Their playlist isn’t based on music… It’s not even about the DJ discovering what music is best.

Jay Electronica and his mythical album is something that most of us don’t even think about anymore. Surprisingly, JAY Z decided to make a point about this during NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans…sometime before/after Electronica’s show at Preservation Hall, JAY told his Roc Nation artist the very words that gave the world hope once again: “Let’s put this album out”.
Adding to that, Complex also caught up with the New Orleans rapper, where he kind of explained what the hell is going on with that album. Check that out below.
DJ Khaled is officially back and bigger than ever. In addition to announcing his new album Grateful (via press conference, which also saw appearances from the likes of Chance The Rapper and Diddy), the now-world-renowned DJ revealed a new track titled ‘Shining’, which features none other than JAY Z (who seems to have words for Drake, again) and Beyoncé. Can’t make a bigger re-entry than that.
So clue as of yet on Grateful‘s release date. In the meantime, you can check out ‘Shining’ below (via TIDAL).

UPDATE: Following the big reveal yesterday, Beyoncé has now liberated a bunch of pics from her “I’m pregnant” photoshoot (some of which include a fast-growing Blue Ivy). She also revealed some pics from when she was pregnant with Blue Ivy — the conspiracy theorists who believe that she was never with child will hopefully be checking this out as well. Check ’em out below.
Congrats to Beyoncé, JAY Z, Blue Ivy and their entire family! The fact that this was all kept secret is in itself incredibly amazing.
We guess this means that Beyoncé is well past the whole cheating thing…
DO. NOT. COUNT. JAY Z. OUT. EVER.
As can be seen above, Sprint has purchased a third of JAY Z’s TIDAL to the tune of $200 million (bringing the company’s value to $600 million). To add reference JAY Z purchased TIDAL two years ago for $56 million. Talk about a bounce back.

So, Kanye West is definitely reaching news levels of WTF (at least in regards to public opinion) following a recent show which saw him supporting Donald Trump (even though he didn’t vote) and the building of a wall across the U.S./Mexico border. It also doesn’t help that he then followed up that show with an even more questionable set in Sacramento, which only ran some 30 minutes and three songs in (he also took shots at JAY Z, Beyoncé, Shia LaBeouf and Mark Zuckerberg). Fortunately, attendees of that show got refund from Ticketmaster.
Then: the make-up show that he set up in Los Angeles was abruptly cancelled. No clue as well why, but it seems like he found that free time to post a series of random images all over his Instagram account. According to director Eli Russell Linnetz (he shot ‘Ye’s ‘Famous’ clip), the slew of pics are part of some art installation.
So, what’s next?

UPDATE: In Kanye’s latest rant last night (added above), he set his sights on Beyoncé and JAY Z. He also continues his support of Trump and ends his set after only three songs, following his arriving on stage an hour and a half late (he did also reunite with KiD CuDi, so there’s that). Really understanding why JAY isn’t feeling ‘Ye these days.
Once again, Kanye West finds a way to dominate the headlines for something other than music. Here’s what went down this past week:
What you see above is Kanye West’s latest rant, which went down in California (it was the beginning of the Saint Pablo tour’s second leg)…not only did Kanye West not vote, he states that — if he did — he would’ve voted for Trump. He also revealed that he’s preparing for a presidential run in 2020, and — despite supporting the one guy who doesn’t have his best interests at heart — he’s still pro Black Lives Matter and pro-women’s rights. Alright.
In related news, it’s been revealed that, back in 2014, ‘Ye donated $15,000 to the Democratic National Committee…seeing that the DNC is corrupt (thanks, WikiLeaks), we wouldn’t be surprised if that helped push ‘Ye to the other side.
Finally: new Yeezy colourways! The new Yeezy Boost 350 V2 styles will be dropping this Wednesday…most outlets (whether digital or in-store) will begin reservations for the shoes tomorrow (21st November). May the odds be in your favour. Check those out below as well.
So, remember when Prince joined forces with JAY Z and TIDAL for his album HITNRUN? Remember when Prince then pulled his entire catalog from all streaming services — except TIDAL? Wasn’t that a clear indication of approval from the late musician (not to mention, this)? Well, it looks like his estate is going against his wishes: they’ve filed a lawsuit against JAY Z’s Roc Nation (which we thought was separate from TIDAL?), claiming that the Hip-Hop mogul’s streaming service has been “exploiting many copyrighted Prince works” since Prince’s death this past April. What?
Adding to the claims is the fact that TIDAL did in fact add additional Prince albums to their catalog post-passing, including The Black Album and Crystal Ball. It also doesn’t help that they’ve yet to provide any evidence to black their claim that Prince gave them permission (with that said, did they at least submit the aforementioned links? It’s there, clear as day!).
So, why is his estate playing amnesia now? Because on 2nd November, they made a deal with Universal Music for full rights to Prince’s catalog — a complete 180° after Prince made it clear that he’s very much against big label business (again: this).
It should also be noted that JAY Z made a standing offer of $40 million to buy the rights to Prince’s music; his bid was later rejected.
Once again, TIDAL seems to move forward only to take several steps back. While we aren’t big fans of the fledgling service, we do hope that Prince’s wishes are honoured and JAY Z wins this one.
As we expected, New York’s Global Citizen Festival — organised by the Global Poverty Project to help end world poverty — is moving to Mumbai, India 19th November (at the MMRDA Grounds-Bandra Kurla Complex). The line-up is pretty official as well: JAY Z has been announced to perform alongside Coldplay and Demi Lovato…Indian musicians will participate as well, including Aamir Khan, Arijit Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Freida Pinto and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Said Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans:
With over half a million young Indians taking over 1.8 million actions in support of our campaigns, earning their free tickets for the inaugural Global Citizen India Festival, it is exhilarating to see that the youth of India won’t wait for change… We are thrilled to be launching this 15 year journey to end extreme poverty in India with the support of Coldplay, Jay Z and Demi Lovato and incredible Indian superstars like A.R.
