Some couple of years ago (above), French Montana teased what sounded like a pretty dope collaboration with Kanye West. Today, that song has apparently leaked somehow; titled ‘Ass Shots’ (…), the track also sees ‘Ye and French joined by Harlem veteran Cam’ron. Not much else is known about the single at this time.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably also heard that Kanye is once again a free man after being released from hospital — you can read more on that here.
Cam’ron recently sat down with REVOLT TV to speak on new music, business ventures and more….the standout of this interview (which you can watch above) is when he speaks on what the hell happened with the highly awaiting collaboration with A-Trak:
Me and A-Trak gonna finish our project up. He had some touring he had to do, [then] the Dipset stuff presented an opportunity, so therefore we stopped what we were doing to tend to our personal business.
Below, you can also check out Cam’s breakdown of his hilarious-yet-genius Mother’s Day card business.
Continuing their assault on 2015, Diplomats members Cam’ron and Jim Jones’s have decided to let go of a sick freestyle over the classic
Diddy Puff Daddy and B.I.G. track ‘Victory’, which you can check out below.
It would also seem as if the Harlem collective are adding their two cents to the new clash between Funkmaster Flex and JAY Z (or, specifically, JAY Z’s LIFE+TIMES website).
UPDATE: Flex has a new rant, where he delves further into his issue with LIFE+TIMES and JAY Z (below).
Following Cam’ron’s revelation of his eventual retirement, Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex has somehow orchestrated the proper return of The Diplomats — now known more by their A.K.A., Dipset — beginning with the new single ‘Have My Money’, which you can check out below.
That’s not all, either — Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and (even) Freekey Zekey came up to the New York station for a freestyle, also added below.
Following all of this (in addition to some visuals and leaks, we hope) will be the forthcoming Dipset mixtape, which will be hosted by the hottest DJ’s and producers in America — Swizz Beatz, DJ Mustard, DJ Khaled and (of course) Flex himself. Add this to the hope of an A$AP Rocky record, Harlem could very well be taking over for 2015.
UPDATE: Official CDQ of ‘Have My Money’ added.
Not sure why we’re calling it a box set, but Killa Cam’ron has decided to maximise his revenue by releasing all six instalments of his first of the month series in one, 30-track hit. Probably best for those who haven’t kept up with the EP releases this year…
You can enjoy a full stream of the quote-on-quote box set below; those that wish to purchase the whole shebang can head over to iTunes.
If he holds his word, then this will certainly be the end of an important era of East Coast Hip-Hop. Cam’ron has taken to the Instagram to both announce that, not only will he be released a Purple Haze 2, but that it will also be his last album ever.
Wow. Speaking to Miss Info, he also explained a bit of what he’ll be doing after he retires from music…
Info: Are you really going to retire from rap?
Cam: Yeah. It’s a wrap. Time to move on.
*pours out a little sizzurp*
Info: Well, you made yourself a legend, and the music will last forever. So what will you focus on next?
Cam: Thanks, Min. Movies and clothing are doing really well for me right now. I’m helping Mendeecees [Yandy’s husband from Love and Hip Hop NY] with his album. And…I’m building a club in Vegas.
So, there are a couple of immediate
thoughts projects that come to mind: Federal Reserve with A-Trak and *drum roll* the long-awaited Diplomats reunion album. Will these projects be shelved permanently as a result?
It’s a family affair as Cam’ron teams up with his significant other JuJu for the new track ‘All Dat Dere Mine’, which also features Maybach Music Group artist Gunplay and is taken from the sixth (and final!) instalment of his 1st Of The Month EP series. Check it out below and purchase on iTunes.
UPDATE: Official visual below.
We’re a little late, but here’s the fifth installment of Cam’ron’s 1st Of The Month series, which also features Wiz Khalifa, Smoke DZA, Hell Rell and Sen City. You can stream it below (Spotify users) or make your purchase over at iTunes.
Cam’ron liberates the new visual for the ARAAB Muzik-produced ‘Touch The Sky’, featuring Wiz Khalifa, Smoke DZA and taken from the forthcoming fifth installment of his 1st Of The Month series (released Saturday).
In addition to Willow Smith, New York rapper Cam’ron took to the FADER Fort stage to perform his own hits (to the surprise of everyone in attendance), including the classic ‘Hey Ma’, which you can check out above.
We hope that you haven’t forgotten about Cam’ron and his First Of The Month series, as he prepares for November with the Wiz Khalifa and Smoke DZA-backed ‘Touch The Sky’. Check it out below.
So Solid Crew member Swiss is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming EP (reportedly titled N***er) and has set up the project with a documentary of the same name to be released alongside. Above lies the trailer for that documentary, which features plenty of commentary from the likes of Mic Righteous, Wretch 32, Fuse ODG, Akala, Ms. Dynamite, Cam’ron and more.
