Courtesy of Hot Creations is a new record from House producer Steve Lawler, aptly-titled ‘House Record’. Our best description would be a near-perfect blend of old and new of the genre…check it out below.
Akon has decided that, in addition to finally releasing the long-awaited Stadium project this year, he will be released 5. FIVE.
The artist took to social networks to announce that Stadium will now be broken down into five different albums — Euro, Pop, Urban, Island and World, which we presume are signs of each project’s musical direction — and has released a new single from each respective project for you to enjoy.
If you have time (seriously, this is not an EP release alone), check out Akon’s new music below.
Stadium: Euro — ‘Better’ Feat. Niko The Kid
Stadium: Pop — ‘To Each His Own’
Stadium: Island — ‘Just A Man’ Feat. Damian Marley
Stadium: Urban — ‘Whole Lot’
Stadium: World — ‘Feeling A Nikka’ Feat. Banje
Rymez looks to be the talk of the town for next year, as his latest offering is the power-packed ‘C.F.Y.L. (Crazy For Your Love)’ featuring Wiley, Sneakbo and Ms. D. Given the success of his previous collaborations with Wiley (the #1 charting ‘Heatwave’ and the #3 hit ‘Can You Hear Me’), you can expect this cut to take-off without a doubt.
A bit late, but: check out another new dope release from 2morrows Victory, titled ‘Interluding’, which — as the previously new cuts before it — comes with a message:
“It’s not a crime to sing your own song”
It’s easy to become entangled in the views and practices of our world; but we know we are called to be unique. Relax and be ‘you’.
Released 19th January, here lies a remix of Anushka’s single ‘Kisses’, now with the addition of Trim. The original can be found on the duo’s debut project Broken Circuit (out now on iTunes).
Every time James Blake remixes a track, I find myself why he doesn’t just tell the world the resulting tunes (which Blake dubs individually as a ‘harmonimix’) are fresh songs, because he puts these so far through the ringer that they’re barely recognisable anyway (note: this isn’t a diss). Case in point — check out his re-blending of a classic record, Gorillaz’ 2005 cut ‘Feel Good Inc.’, below.
In related news, James Blake may also be collaborating with Kanye West soon, according to a recent interview with the Miami New Times:
I have a lot of respect for [Kanye], for what he has been releasing for years. We haven’t done a great deal of work in the same room yet, but we’ve done a few things, kind of helped each other with our own music. In terms of the actual collaboration for this record, it looks like we should be able to get something done. I know that there’s a specific song I would like him to be on, and if he can do that by the time my record comes out, that would be fantastic.
We posted a stream of Chimpo’s forthcoming mixtape Monkey Teef (which drops tomorrow), and now we have a single track from the project titled ‘Your Time’, available for free download. Hopefully this can hold fans for 24 hours before Chimpo’s release (via Toddla T’s Girls Music imprint) makes landfall.
In related news, we’ve also included a ‘Day In The Life’ clip of the DJ/producer courtesy of Thump below.
