Last night saw the first of two appearances from Odd Future offshoot The Internet, which — if you’ve been living under a rock — could best be described as the future of musician-driven Soul, Funk and R&B. Even better: the band also saw support from opening act Wolfie, whom (thanks in part to collaborations with star producer Show N Prove) created fans out of us with warm, almost-nostalgic and oft-genre bending tracks like ‘Obi Wan‘ and ‘Come Over‘.
As far as The Internet? Naturally, the crowd (including us) hung on to every word that Syd Tha Kyd sang, keeping us at peak level with cuts from their GRAMMY-nominated album Ego Death (and more, of course). Tracks like ‘Special Affair’ and ‘Get Away’ sound even better when you’re witnessing and hearing them performed live.
Above, you can check out some photos from the night (courtesy of Yomi Kadejoh) above. Long story short: we’re going to be front and centre every time The Internet decided to bless London with their presence. They’re that damn good.
