AlunaGeorge To Perform At The World’s First Minecraft Concert
This is dope: as a part of Norway’s forthcoming tech conference The Gathering, Lemaitre, Broiler and AlunaGeorge have been tapped to perform at the opening show, which takes place at Hamar Olympic Hall. In addition, that concert will also be recreated live in Minecraft. This is apparently a first for the hugely popular video game.
This means that, in addition to adverts like this, those within the game’s vast network will also see flyers and billboards inside Minecraft; as with the real world, there will also be a capacity limit for the venue within that virtual world. Said Gathering organiser (and founder of Heisholt Inc.) Erik Heisholt:
There have been plenty of other music experiences in the Minecraft universe, but not like this. This will be the world’s first live Minecraft concert… I’m sure they’ll be able to accommodate around 2,000 to 3,000 people, so this will have the same sort of feel as seeing a show in small concert venue.
Music and gaming go hand in hand and here we will have talented artists performing in an exceptional setting. That is will be performed as a concert and a stream in Minecraft is enormous.
It all kicks off at 6PM BST tonight. Get more information here.
