It looks like adidas is going for the jugular with competition, as they have successfully lured three of Nike’s best designers over to their brand.
Beginning in 2015, Marc Dolce, Denis Dekovic and Mark Miner — known for creating the Hypervenoms and Magista football boot, Luna Force 1, Free Run and plenty more that we could name — will begin designing footwear for the German brand; it was fully revealed through Dekovic in a recent tweet (below). Many sources are speculating that adidas’ forthcoming ‘Brooklyn Creative Studio’ in New York City (a creative hub that is sure to attract more artists and designers to the brand) could be the deciding factor.
We would also not expect to see any official works from these three at the top of next year, either, as they are more than likely working out clauses in their former employer’s contact(s). Nonetheless, with signings from the likes of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora and freaking Manchester United (not counting their current standing within the Premier League), adidas could finally remove Nike from the throne.
