Example returns with another anthemic cut from the forthcoming album Live Life Living, released 7th July (preorder here). Serving as the first track from the project, ‘Next Year’ was co-written by Stuart Price in L.A….courtesy of Digital Spy, Example actually spoke on the direction of the single:

We wanted to channel some of the Chemical Brothers and Massive Attack’s earlier work… It was so hard for me to sing over the chords without doing my best Liam Gallagher impersonation.

The track is essentially about all my mates who have 9-5’s and they all look forward to that one weekend a year at a festival when they can completely lose their mind.

And then they look forward to the same festival or holiday with their mates the following year.

It’s essentially what the album is all about – hedonism – and therefore the perfect track to start the album with.
